District 32 Surprisingly Could be in Play for Republicans

From( L to R) Senate candidate Kim June, Delegate candidates Michele Speakman and Monica Smearman.

One surpise district in play is District 32 in northern Anne Arundel County.

I guess when Democrats gerrymandered District 33, they took away some Democratic votes from District 32.

The primary turnout Democrat vs. Republican was very more favorable for Republicans than previous years.

These seats are winnable but I don’t know if there are enough experienced candidates to take advantage.

STATE SENATE
The GOP Senatorial nominee in District 32 is attorney Kim June. She does have a social media presence and over $7,000 in the bank. Pamela Beidle’s seat could be in play if June is ready to challenge.

HOUSE OF DELEGATES
The three Democratic delegates incumbents are running for reelection but Michelle Speakman looks like she can pick up a seat.
She is a former member of the Hogan Administration. She finished first in the uncontested GOP primary, has over $7,000 in the bank and has a social media presence. Speakman is a proud supporter of Dan Cox. Does that hurt her in a moderate district such as 32? Who knows?

I have her at 50/50 (toss up) against the weakest Democrat Rogers.

Monica Smearman has uphill battle since she is a first time candidate. She only had under $2,000 in the bank but that is more than some GOP candidates. To her credit, all of the money she raised was from contributions. She has a good website and it appears she is out campaigning hard. She might be able to join Speakman for “50/50”

The third candidate is Michael Jette. He has no website, no social media and only $5 in his account. Hopefully he is working hard behind the scenes. Until I see more, best I can put this third seat at “Slight Democrat”

On Election night, check out this race first. If one or more of these GOP candidates are in the top three or near the Democrats, it is going to be a good night statewide for the GOP.
