Metzgar Votes in Favor of BRFA With Tax Increases

Del. Ric Metzgar is receiving criticism for being the only Republican to vote in favor of SB 362 Budget Reconciliation and Financing Act of 2024. The budget bill will cause tax and fee increases.

Metzgar explained that this is the toughest vote he has made in his 10 years in Annapolis. He said there is too much good in the bill.

“We have kicked this can so many times. How many times are we going to kick the can and not fix it,” Metzgar said on the floor.

The bill passed the House 89 to 45 There were nine Democrats from moderate district (Brooke Grossman, Sheree Sample- Hughes, Chao Wu, Natalie Ziegler, Heather Bagnall, Steve Johnson, Andre Johnson, Brian Crosby, and Gary Simmons ) voted against this bill.
