Who Will Be GOP Nominee in Congressional 6?

The most interesting GOP primary has to be in Congressional District 6. It is a crowded field with many high-profile Republican candidates and the winner has a legitimate shot of beating the Democrats for David Trone’s vacant seat.

There have been no public polls so it should be interesting to see how this race will break.

It appears that 2022 GOP GubernatorialĀ nominee Dan Cox is one of the favorites because of his name ID, but don’t count out Neil Parrott. The former State delegate from Hagerstown was the GOP CD-6 nominee in 2020 & 2022. He nearly defeated Trone until absentee ballots took him out. Will GOP voters give Parrott a third shot in the General Election or go with a different candidate?
Another candidate to watch is former state delegate Brenda Thiam, who shared a district with Parrott in Hagerstown.

Thiam appeared to have a shot at the seat in the beginning, but she trails behind Parrott and Cox in Financial reports. There are four other Republicans in the CD6 primary but it appears to be a race between Parrott and Cox.
