GOP Wants Complete Control in District 34

Senate candidate Christian Miele along with 34A Delegate candidate Teresa Walter

District 34 in Harford County is a competitive and a background district. Two Democrats hold both seats in District 34 but that should change. District 34B has been a comfortable district for Republicans. GOP Senator Bob Cassilly is running for Harford County Executive but his seat should still be retained by Republicans.

SENATE
Former 8th District Delegate and 2018 state Senatorial candidate Christian Miele should retain Cassilly’s Senate seat. He is being challenged by Democrat Mary-Dulany James, who served as delegate in District 34A for 16 years and she is the daughter of former Maryland Senate President William James.

HOUSE OF DELEGATES

Former Del. Glen Glass is in position to get his old seat back since it is open seat as Del. Mary Ann Lisanti gave it up to unsuccessfully run for state senate.

Republican Teresa Walter also has a chance to take Democratic Del. Steve Johnson’s seat in this two-member district. It is listed as “50-50”.

In District 34 B, Del. Susan McComas survived a narrow primary win over Jay M. Ellenby. McComas should have a “steady win” in her race against her Democratic opponent.
