Nicolee Ambrose is now running for Congress. The Maryland National Committeewoman filed near the deadline to run in Congressional District 2, which is held by Democratic Congressman C.A. “Dutch” Ruppersberger.

Ambrose is a resident of Timonium and has served as Maryland National Committeewoman since 2012.

She joins a crowded Republican field in District 2 that includes six GOP candidates.

Many Republicans were backing former WBAL radio host Yuripzy Morgan in District, but she dropped out of the District 2 race to join the District 3 race when her Anne Arundel County residence was shifted over to District 3 after redistricting.

Ambrose was recently endorsed by Congressman Andy Harris and she has many of the same star power qualities as Morgan.  She is likely the favorite to face Ruppersberger in November.

Ruppersberger has won every Congressional Race by 25 point since 2004, but Nat Silver of fivethirtyeight.com projects that District 2 has shifted to a Democrat +11 and The Cook Political Report has CD-2 at a more competitive level for Republicans at Democrat + 7 for the official map.

This is projected as a strong Republican year in 2022.
