McDonough to Run for Baltimore County Executive

Pat McDonough is running for Baltimore County Executive. The former Delegate and current Middle River resident made his announcement on his WCBM radio show on Saturday. McDonough announced that he is using the campaign slogan “Save Baltimore County”, similar to President Donald Trump new slogan “Save America”

He officially filed for the County Executive on Friday, April 15, which was the last day to file for office. McDonough joins a crowded field on the Republican side as the GOP is trying to defeat incumbent Democratic County Executive John Olszewski Jr.

Darren Badillo and Kim Stansbury were the first two candidates to file for the GOP in 2021.

Thilo August Albert Gluck and Henry Ciezkowski filed in late March and A. Scott Pappas filed on the last day along with McDonough.

McDonough served in the House of Delegates in District 7 from 2003 to 2019. He did not seek reelection in 2018 and decided to run for County Executive, but lost in the Republican primary to Al Redmer ’18.

There are only two candidates on the Democratic side as Olszewski will face Adam Reuter in their party’s  primary.
