DGA Sends Out “Anti” Cox Ad to Fire up GOP Base

We have all experienced the back and forth between the Kelly Schulz and Dan Cox’s campaign. Schulz’s team alleged that the Democrats were giving Cox money and he denied that claim.

It got more interesting on Monday as Republicans in Maryland received a mailer called “Dangerous Dan Cox”. The mailer appeared to be a pro- Schulz ad, but it was sent out by a group called DGA Action Maryland.

The ad stated that Cox is “Too Conservative for Maryland” and “Dan Cox is ready to push Donald Trump’s agenda.”

Then the mailer appeared to be targeted towards Democrats/moderates on the surface, but it was strategically worded.

It stated Cox as “being 100 pro-life and defunding Planned Parenthood; opposing federal restrictions on gun owners; and continuing to spread that the 2020 election were a fraud”.

DGA Action MD is from the Democratic Governors Association. Schulz supporters would not attack Cox on being pro-life and opposing gun restrictions. And the mailer did not use typical liberal trigger words.

For example, it didn’t mention that Cox was going to “take away a woman’s right to choose” instead it mentioned he is “pro-life”.

The mailer also didn’t mention that he is against “gun safety” instead it stated Cox as “opposing federal restrictions on gun owners”. This mailer was not targeted towards Democrats, it geared for Republicans.

It was a reverse psychology mailer that is trying to talk Republicans into voting for Cox. A weak attack piece was sent to Republicans to remind them that Cox is the most “conservative’ candidate to “indirectly” fire up the Republican base. DGA Action wants to get the Republican base out to the polls for Cox.

Does anyone believe that this was a mailer was meant for Democrats, but it got sent to Republicans “by mistake”.

No, Democrats did not directly give Cox money, but this piece will probably drive some votes towards Cox.

  1. I have heard the group on radio, using Hogan’s voice calling Cox a Qanon kook and not a serious candidate.

There was nothing false flag anout the radio ad from the same group.

Can’t find DGA Action site however. Perhaps the radio ad is not legitimately sponsored
