Three New Republicans Headed to House of Delegates

There are going to be many new Republicans in Annapolis next year. Hopefully more than expected. Ryan Nawrocki of District 7A is an example of the many new Republicans expected to be in Annapolis after he won his primary.

Jim Hinebaugh, Jr. from District 1A will almost certainly serve in the House along with Terry L. Baker from District 1C after their primary wins.

Technically they still have the General Election against a Democrat in November. They will all win but it’s not official until they do.

However; there are three new Republicans techically heading to Annapolis because they have no opponent in November.

In District 5, Eric Bouchat and Chris Tomlinson will join incumbent GOP Del. April Rose in January after their primary wins.

Bouchat and Tomlinson competed in a eight-person primary after Del. Susan Krebs retired and Del. Haven Shoemaker announced he was running for Carroll County State’s Attorney.

District 42C was created as a single-member district in Carroll County. This is an interesting sinle member district as there were no incumbents or Democrats that filed so Republicans were guaranteed a first-time candidate.

Republican Joshua J. Stonko defeated Lyn Mallick in 42Cto become GOP nominee and now state delegate since there is no election for him in November.

Congratulations to those three Republicans.
