Cox and Statewide GOP Candidates Down Big

A Goucher Poll was released and it has Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Wes Moore leading Republican Dan Cox by 22 points (53 to 31 percent)

The tough part about that poll for Cox is that there are only nine percent undecided (Amazingly, the Green Party and Libertarian Party candidates combined for six percent of the vote).

If Cox was down 43 to 21 with 19 percent undecided at least there would be path and an outside possibility.

Moore is already at a majority. I think Cox will narrow gap but not by 22 points.

Anthony Brown is leading by the same 53 to 31 percent margin over Republican
Michael Peroutka, but there are 15 percent undecided in Attorney General race.

The Comptroller race is interesting. Democratic nominee Brooke Lierman is leading Republican Barry Glassman by 13 (48 to 35 percent) with 16 percent.

Glassman is in a difficult position. He is a more moderate Republican. He is trying to distance himself from right-wing conservatives Cox and Peroutka, but can’t distance himself too far as he still needs the base of the GOP to win a statewide election.

As expected, Chris Van Hollen is easily ahead in his race.

The Goucher Poll used shared voters thoughts on vaccine requirements, CRT and parent involvement for the school curriculum.
