BCPS Conservative School Board Member Censured

The Baltimore Banner reported that BCPS Board Member Maggie Litz Domanowski was “censured” by fellow Board members in a 7-4 vote for her line of questions of BCPS Superintendent Myriam Rogers.
The Banner reported she was censured for her “disrespectful conduct” towards the BCPS Superintendent. Although many are asking where is the “disrespectful conduct”?
The Board position is non-partisan but Domanowski has many conservative views.
Domanowski released a statement about the situation.
“I was not blindsided by the resolution to censure me at the March 11, 2025 meeting. I am not upset or angry at any fellow board member who voted for it. They were well within their rights.
I want to thank Kristin Griffith of the Baltimore Banner for writing a fair story. She contacted me but I did not respond. Turns out, she didn’t need me because she wrote a very accurate and factual article. I hope you don’t receive too much backlash for it.
I also want to thank C4 and Bryan Nehman WBAL of WBAL NewsRadio 1090 and FM 101.5 and their segment about my censure because of Kristin’s article. Neither of them contacted me nor did I contact or speak to them… but it was as if they were a fly on the wall at recent board discussions.
I am sorry this is the story that is getting so much attention around a $3 Billion budget that your Baltimore County School Board has now adopted. I personally feel as though more time has been spent by the board discussing my “tone” and “demeanor” during a two minute line of questioning of the budget than the ACTUAL BUDGET. That doesn’t seem right to me.
I have another great friend to thank but we will keep her anonymous for now. I will be filing an appeal to this decision. More than likely, it will not get overturned but that’s not why I am appealing.
If you want to support me or if you want to support the resolution to censure me, please send your comments to boe@bcps.org and mdomanowski@bcps.org
This is not going to stop me from asking questions, that’s why I was elected.
This is not going to stop me from doing what I believe is best for all students, that’s why I ran for this position in the first place.
And this is not going to stop me from having faith that there are still amazing people at BCPS who want to and are doing what’s best for our students.
Thank you to all my family and friends, I couldn’t do this without you.”
