Maryland GOP Says MEA Concerned About Power Outages

Maryland Republican Party has shared a letter from the Maryland Energy Administration that states the cold temperatures are causing:

• Record-high demand
• Transmission constraints
• Insufficient local power generation

There is a possibility of power outages with this demand for energy.

“As we face prolonged below-freezing temperatures, BGE and the Maryland Energy Administration have announced that we are at risk of blackouts this week,” said the Maryland Republican Party

“Instead of addressing this looming crisis, Wes Moore and House Democrats are focused on pushing a gerrymandering bill to silence Republican voters.”
