Thiam appointed to take on Grossman in District 2B
Brenda Thiam is going after her old seat after all.
The former District 2B Delegate announced she is seeking old delegate seat after Sean Flaherty withdrew as the Republican nominee.
“After the State Delegate candidate for district 2B stepped down last week, I was asked to run for the seat. I said yes because you won’t find me sitting on my hands and complaining on this little blue app about what’s not working in our community and our state,” Thiam wrote.
Thiam was appointed to the Hagerstown delegate seat in 2020
She filed for relection in 2022 but was defeated by Democrat Brooke Grossman.
Many were hoping that Thiam would seek a rematch with Groosman but she decided to run as John Myrick’s running mate as a Lieutenant Gubernatorial candidate.
After Myrick lost and Flaherty stepped down, it created the perfect opportunity for Thiam.
“There is much work to be done in Hagerstown and I’m willing to work to help solve our problems. Our team is growing over the last few days this decision transpired, and I’m excited about the future,” Thiam said.
“I believe in Hagerstown and I will continue to work hard for our city. My hands are busy working behind the scenes and I’m looking forward to seeing what more we can do together”
