Baltimore County Agencies Go Woke on Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day
Are some Baltimore County Government agencies looking to divide its citizens?
Some Baltimore County agencies such as Baltimore County Public Works, Animal Services abd Department of Aging wished everyone “Happy Indigenous Peoples Day” on its social media pages but didn’t mention Columbus Day.
Columbus Day was never removed from the calendar so why aren’t government pages wishing us a “Happy Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day”
Now we know that Baltimore County Schools and Baltimore County Public Library are woke but now Animal Services, Public Works and Department of Aging are getting into politics. Im sure those good workers and their services don’t want to get involved in controversy but someone had to make the post.
When you post about Indigenous Peoples Day and don’t mention anything about Columbus, you know they are passionate people that are going to respond and it gets ugly.
If it reserved it and said “Happy Columbus Day” but didn’t mention Indigenous Peoples Day, the other side would be upset.
How do I know? Harford County wished everyone a Happy Columbus Day only and received push back about not mentioning Indigenous Peoples Day
Sadly we are a divided country. Either mention both days or just call Oct. 13 a holiday like the Baltimore County Government did.
It seems like some Baltimore County agencies love the division and controversy but leave the animals, seniors and daily services out of politics.
