Republicans Called Out for Voting in Favor of the Maryland Budget
The Maryland Budget was passed and many Republicans in the House of Delegates are getting criticized for voting in favor of the budget.
Delegates Adam, Arentz, Baker, Beauchamp. Buckel, Ghrist, Griffin, Hartman, Hornberger, Howard, Hutchinson, Jacobs, Metzgar, Schmidt and Stonko all voted for the budget.
District 7B Delegate Lauren Arikan was one of the no votes and she is upset with the “yes” votes.
“You will see that out of 39 House Republicans– only 22 Republicans voted against the largest budget in the history of the state– $71BILLION. That passed with $127 million in cuts to the disabled,” Arikan said.
One of the Republican “yes” votes was Minority Leader Jason Buckel and the Maryland Freedom Caucus called out Buckel.
“Minority Leader Jason Buckel is first on the floor to defend his YES vote on Maryland’s largest budget in history – $71 BILLION – that is balanced on budget tricks like special fund transfers and hundreds of millions cut from the Department of Disabilities,” said a statement from the Freedom Caucus.
“This budget GUARANTEES tax increases next year. The Democrats don’t need a single Republican vote to pass their budgets – remember this in November.”
