Harris Calls Three Mailers Using His Photo As Non-Endorsements

Congressman Andy Harris had to release a statement that the usage of his photo in a mailer does not mean he has endorsed a candidate. This is in response to three separate mailers that Harris’ picture was seen in those mailers with three GOP candidates.

All three of these candidates are in heavily contested primary battles.

The first mailer to use Harris’ photo was an ad for Sen. Adelaide C. Eckardt. She is in a tough primary against Del. Johnny Mautz in District 37.

This mailer was sent out with a photo of Eckardt and Harris.

In District 7A, Joe Boteler is trying to pick up a seat in a new district against Delegate Kathy Szeliga, Ryan Nawrocki and Steve Redmer. A mailer was sent out called “Your Pro-Life” team. It had a photo of former President Donald Trump with Gubernatorial candidate Dan Cox, a photo of Harris and a photo of Boteler.

An identical mailer was sent out with Trump, Cox, Harris and Delegate Rick Impallaria’s photos with the same label “Your Pro-Life” team. Impallaria is running in the same district as fellow Incumbent Delegate Lauren Arikan. Harris said on Facebook page that he has endorsed Impallaria’s opponent. (Arikan)

“Unless you see and hear a public statement of endorsement or an endorsement is put on my website or social media, any photo used on a website, social media, or mailer is not an endorsement or support for any one candidate over another this cycle. A photo is not an endorsement,” Harris said in a statement about these mailers.”
