Kach Retires Early; Replacement Shouldn’t be Current Candidate

Wade Kach is out as County Councilman in Baltimore County. Kach respresented District 3 in northern Baltimore County since 2014 and served as a member of the House of Delegates for 40 years until 2014.

His departure was stated for heath reasons.

Kach already had plans to retire at the end of his term in December.

I’m sure he wanted to finish the remainder of his term, but sadly had to leave early. Hoping and praying for a full recovery.

Now someone has to fill Kach’s seat.

Right now, there is a competitive Republican primary between Theaux  LeGardeur and Nino Mangione.

When Kevin Kamentz passed away as Baltimore County Executive in 2018, it was a month before the Democratic primary. Kamenetz couldn’t seek reelection and it was already an open seat, but someone had to fill that seat.

None of the Democratic candidates in that race were appointed to that seat. Kamenetz staffer Don Mohler finished out the remainder of his boss’s term to not give any candidate an edge.

Let’s hope someone other than LeGardeur or Mangione is appointed to Kach’s seat to keep the primary fair in June.
