Maryland Senate Republicans Dont Support Fee or Tax Increase

After Gov. Wes Moore announced that Maryland has a $3 billion deficit [Gov. Larry Hogan left Moore with a $5 billion surplus before the start of the 2023 Session], Maryland Senate Republicans said raising taxes and increasing fees is not an option.
“The Republican Caucus stands firm that we will not support any type of tax or fee increase,” said Senate Minority Leader Steve Hershey said in a statement.
