State School Board Overrules Censure of Domanowski

Baltimore County School Board Member Maggie Litz Domanowski announced that the Maryland State Board of Education has reserved the Baltimore County Board of Education decision’s to censure her.

The Baltimore County Board of Education voted 7-4 to censure Domanowski for “a lack of courtesy and decorum,” and for “engaging in rude and disrespectful conduct toward the BCPS Superintendent regarding the proposed FY2026 budget,” during the board meeting on Jan. 28.
The state board stepped in and reviewed the recording of Domanowski questioning of Superintendent Dr
.Myriam Rogers on the FY 2026 Operating Budget during the and found no issue with the line of questioning.
We do not observe any behavior that was rude and disrespectful conduct toward the Superintendent which ‘exhibited a lack of courtesy and decorum” or ‘actions using a tone and manner that was perceived as uncivil and aggressive,” said a statement from the state school board.
Even before the censure was cleared,Domanowski officially filed for reelection to the Baltimore County Board of Education in District 3 on Aug. 7.
“My 2026 campaign will highlight my number one priority… Students,” Domanowski wrote after she filer.
No other candidates have filed for her seat at this time.
