Freedom Caucus Calls Out Elrich and Raskin’s “Hitler” Comparsion to Trump

The Maryland Freedom Caucus sent the following press release condemning comments by Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and Congressman Jamie Raskin.

The Maryland Freedom Caucus is appalled and disgusted by recent comments from Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and Congressman Jamie Raskin comparing President Donald J. Trump to Adolf Hitler, a genocidal dictator responsiblefor the murder of over 11 million innocent people, including six million Jews during the Holocaust.

Such comparisons are not only morally repugnant anddeeply offensive, they also reflect a complete collapse of historical literacy and intellectual seriousness within the Democratic Party.

Furthermore, to insinuate that tax and spending cuts are worse than the systematic murder of millions of people is downright shameful.

The Maryland Freedom Caucus calls on all responsible leaders, regardless of party, to condemn this rhetoric and demand a higher standard of public debate.
