Democrats Pass Bill to Make Maryland Sanctuary State
It was a late night on the Maryland House of Delegates floor as the Democrats passed through a SB 791 Community Trust Act that makes Maryland a sanctuary state.
The bill started off in the Maryland Senate and shifted over to the Maryland House of Delegates late Saturday afternoon.
After nine hours on the floor, the bill was passed after 11 p.m. on Saturday.
Republicans introduced 21 amendments in the House and each amendment was voted down.
The bill moves to Governor Wes Moore’s desk.
